October 5, 2023 - Hooded Horse is packing its bags and heading down under to attend PAX Australia. Along with an array of playable demos from across the portfolio, Balancing Monkey Games will be in town with an exclusive playable build for spacefaring city-building game Beyond These Stars. We’re marking the occasion with a new gameplay trailer, as well as refreshed screenshots and store page assets.
Playable for the first time at PAX Australia, Beyond These Stars is the follow-up to the studio’s previous hit Before We Leave, and tasks players with rebuilding society on the back of a gigantic space whale, Kewa. They aren’t some silent carrier, though – Kewa is a sentient being with thoughts and desires, and players will need to learn how to communicate with Kewa as they travel the galaxy and try to convince them to go where players want to go.
An early demo will be playable exclusively on the show floor at the CODE NZ booth, 1140, giving players a glimpse of the game and a preview of a future demo dropping next year. Attendees can also head over to the Hooded Horse Indie Pod at Indie Booth 25 to try out demos for:
