21 August 2024 - Indie studio Outlier today announced Mars Attracts: a theme park management sim set in the iconic universe of Mars Attacks™, to be released in Early Access in 2025.
The game was unveiled as part of the Future Games Showcase at Gamescom with a first look trailer.
In Mars Attracts, players will abduct humans from across history, display them in customizable habitats, build up an attractive park to draw in visitors, and deal with escaping humans terrorizing their Martian guests.
Mars Attracts combines the rich systems and in-depth management simulations familiar to fans of games like Roller Coaster Tycoon, Theme Hospital and Zoo Tycoon with the retro futuristic, B-movie inspired style and darkly mischievous humor of this beloved IP.
Players will take control of advanced Martian technology to procure humans from across their historical periods – from Ancient Rome to the Wild West – and build the perfect habitat to ensure they have no idea they ever left. The key to success in Mars Attracts is to tailor enclosures to appeal to each human’s preferences – or else you may find yourself dealing with an enraged human terrorizing your beautiful park!
For those attending Gamescom in person, Outlier will host a booth with a first playable prototype of the game in Hall 10.1 A71. This demo will allow players to try their hand at building their own park to get a taste for all Mars Attracts has to offer.
